Serving Others
Mission Projects
It’s in Our Values
One of the Values of All Saints United Methodist Church is Service.
Reaching out into our community and the world around us, serving without expectation or condition.
We actively seek opportunities to serve and make a meaningful impact in our community and beyond.
Here are just a few of the projects we are currently working on as of November 1, 2024:
Church of the Reconciler Meal Volunteers
Help us serve a warm meal to our friends at Church of the Reconciler! The food will be provided by one of our small groups, but we are looking for volunteers to help us serve the meal and make cookies. Youth are welcome to attend with their parent or guardians!
The Arc of Central Alabama
The Arc of Central Alabama serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families through comprehensive and quality programming, advocacy efforts, education, and awareness, all in an effort to ensure each person affected by IDD has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential for the most independent life possible.
Bundles of Hope Diaper Bank
We will be collecting any size diapers or monetary donations for Bundles of Hope Diaper Bank.
North Alabama Conference Mission Trip to Zambia
Skip Pennington went on a mission trip to Zambia July 31 - August 12, 2024. The purpose of the trip was to develop relationships with Joe and Ashley Riddle, Global Ministry Missionaries from the North Alabama Conference of the UMC, serving in Zambia. The team created ways to provide support for Joe and/or Ashley with their local projects in Zambia and pave the path for future teams to serve with them.
The Riddles in Zambia
Joe Riddle is a missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church, serving as a church developer in Lusaka, Zambia in the South Congo/Zambia Episcopal Area.
Ashley Riddle is a United Methodist missionary with the General Board of Global Ministries, serving as the Volunteers in Mission coordinator and Christian education trainer for the South Congo/Zambia Episcopal Area.
Projects listed are subject to change.
The Great Commission
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:16-20
