A new community church with over 100 years of service in Trussville.
All Saints United Methodist Church
Emboldened Followers of Christ
Our congregation traces its roots in Trussville to 1869. Trussville's first Methodist church, based in the heart of town, grew and changed over time, as did its community. In April 2023 that congregation ultimately left the United Methodist Church. In response, a group of us reorganized and began worshipping together as a newly planted community of faith. We were immediately excited about what the future would hold, and started growing almost instantly as excitement spread about this new thing. We strive to be a welcoming, affirming, and inclusive home for all, making the kingdom of God real and present. We're full of new faces and old, and there's always room for more at All Saints United Methodist Church.
What is a United Methodist Church Plant? The Conference refers to our congregation as a “United Methodist Church Plant".” When our church establishes its roots and we continue to grow, we will find a permanent location.
Until we are “planted” we are meeting at Pump It Up in Trussville. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Childcare is provided, so bring your entire family!
We expect new, larger worship spaces as we grow. Follow our social media and website to keep up with our growing congregation. We will be adding small groups for all ages as space and homes permit. And we’ll be committed to community activities and events.
What is the Basis for the Church’s Name? Church members submitted various names for our new church in September 2023. The Leadership Team narrowed the list down over a period of weeks and church members were able to comment as the list grew smaller. Finally, All Saints United Methodist Church was selected.
An explanation from the United Methodist Church website (Who are the communion of saints in the Apostles Creed?) will help to clarify the term “All Saints”.
Every time we confess our faith using the words of the Apostles Creed, we say together:
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
In Greek, transliterated into the Roman alphabet we use, the words are "agiōn koinōnian." The first word, agiōn, usually translated as "saints," is the word used widely by Christians simply to refer to other Christians. In Romans 1:7, Paul concludes his opening address to the Christians at Rome by referring to them as "those called saints." We see this kind of shorthand for Christians used nearly everywhere in the first several centuries, and still in some circles today. It does not refer to any "special Christians," or those who have had more exemplary lives than others. It just means those on whom the Holy Spirit has been outpoured through the gift of baptism.

The Great Commission
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:16-20
